Colorado is still very much a developing state. It has yet to become overcrowded or overpopulated. The amount of land available has helped to build a strong housing market for the state. Builders have opportunities to purchase land at an affordable rate. With room to expand, popular cities like Denver and Colorado Springs offer attractive opportunities for home buyers. Cheaper land prices have helped to maintain a lower home price without a large decrease from years past.
Sales Trends
With low costs to builders, sales have had increased revenue than most of the rest of the country. Housing sales volumes are not as high as some of the other attractive areas in the country, but the market has maintained at a strong, healthy level. Total permits for 2008 were 8,800 for the Denver/Aurora area; lower in volume than some markets but higher than many others. Denver, rated as the 12th healthiest market in the country for 2009 by Hanley Wood, is a safe place for both builders and home buyers to enter the market (for a detailed look at the Healthiest markets rated by Hanley Wood click here) « Close »
