In a recent report by Hanley Wood on the healthiest housing markets in the country, they rated Raleigh as the 6th healthiest. The report highlighted the fact that Raleigh has been able to create an impressive number of jobs as the city continues to grow. The city has experienced roughly 5% population growth annually over the last five years. With a large number of people moving to the area, new residents have been buying new homes at an impressive rate. In 2008 alone, the city sold 11,386 new homes.
