As the 7th biggest housing market, Chicago sold a total of 14,598 in 2008. A lot of the success has come from a large percentage of the state moving closer to the Chicago area. As more and more jobs are created in the Chicago area, Illinois residents from varies parts of the state have migrated to the Windy City to find work.
